COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII <br />�TE•Of •N�'J' <br />RESOLUTION NO. 64G 2 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND <br />RESOURCE CONSERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL TO SUPPORT THE <br />2024 HAWAI`I ISLAND VETERANS DAY PARADE. <br />WHEREAS, Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council (BIRCDC) is <br />a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the economic, cultural, and natural environment <br />of Hawaii Island through the sponsorship of festivals, programs, and special events unique to <br />this island; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Veterans Day Parade brings members of the community <br />together to express their gratitude and appreciation as they celebrate service members for their <br />sacrifice for our nation; and <br />WHEREAS, BIRCDC is the fiscal sponsor of the 2024 Hawaii Island Veterans Day <br />Parade, which will be held in downtown Hilo on Saturday, November 9, 2024, beginning at <br />10:00 a.m.; and <br />WHEREAS, BIRCDC is requesting funds for special -duty police officers for the 2024 <br />Hawaii Island Veterans Day Parade; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that promote <br />family -friendly events and activities in a drug -free and alcohol -free environment; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii. County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to BIRCDC to support the 2024 Hawaii Island Veterans Day <br />Parade. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
