A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH EXPENSES FOR VARIOUS SPECIAL PROJECTS AND EVENTS HELD ON HAWAI‘I ISLAND.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation provides and facilitates a wide variety of services to meet the needs of the community while maintaining the cultural uniqueness of our
rich heritage, diversity, and the aloha spirit; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports various special projects and events in our community to share, preserve, perpetuate, and foster the appreciation of our rich
multi-cultural heritage in the arts, history, and humanities, such as the Merrie Monarch Festival, KWXX Ho‘olaule‘a, Ironman World Championship, etc.; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds for expenses to support and enhance the various special projects and events in our community that will be held in
fiscal year 2024-2025; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to assist
with expenses for various special projects and events held on Hawai‘i Island.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
