Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 201, reports as follows:
Bill No. 201, transmitted by Director of Finance Diane Nakagawa via Communication No. 1020, dated
August 28, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for the•fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants—FY 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant account
($488,722.63); and appropriates the same to the FY 2023 Assistance to Firefighters Grant account.
Funds would be used to establish a Hazard Zone Incident Command and a Control Training Program to
provide safe, effective, and efficient emergency response operations.
Committee Member Ashley Kierkiewicz stated that this bill is the companion measure to Resolution
No. 614-24 and thanked Battalion Chief Patrick Springer for his help.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 201, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
