;�ZY OFH,' COUNTY OF HAWAI I �,, . •' STATE OF HAWAI I RESOLUTION NO. d 0 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FOOD BASKET INC. FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF SECURITY CAMERAS AT VARIOUS PROPERTIES TO ASSIST ITS AGRICULTURAL SUPPLIERS IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 6. WHEREAS, The Food Basket Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose goal is to collaborate with organizations and fulfill its partnering mission to eradicate the root of hunger; and WHEREAS, agricultural theft continues to be a major concern for Hawai`i Island's agricultural industry and its livelihood; and WHEREAS, The Food Basket Inc.'s Malama Da Fanner Program initiated the "Ag Theft Prevention Camera Program", to thwart agricultural theft, which can halt or significantly reduce the fresh food supply that is distributed to the community; and WHEREAS, The Food Basket Inc. is requesting funds to purchase and install security cameras at various properties to assist its agricultural suppliers in Council District 6; and WHEREAS,the Department of Research and Development supports programs that develop methodologies and education to reduce and prevent agricultural theft; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to The Food Basket Inc. for the purchase and installation of security cameras at various properties to assist its agricultural suppliers in Council District 6. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
