COUNTY OF HAWAI`I •_ STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />f aF'H� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 661 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO THE OFFICE OF <br />MANAGEMENT FOR THE SISTER CITY PROGRAM, <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Mayor's Sister City Program promotes friendship, <br />goodwill, and understanding between global communities by providing opportunities for the <br />residents of Hawaii Island and our Sister Cities to experience different cultures through <br />education, social, and economic interactions; and <br />WHEREAS, the Sister City partnerships across France, Chile, Japan, South Korea, <br />Taiwan, and the Philippines are fundamental to the vitality of Hawaii Island as these <br />relationships enrich our community with global perspectivies and shared experiences; and <br />WHEREAS, looking towards a sustainable future, it's important to strengthen <br />relationships with our Sister Cities, learning from each other and building critical networks to <br />foster resilience, mutual support, and understanding; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Mayor is requesting funds to assist with expenses <br />associated with coordinating the Sister City Program such as transportation, facility rental, food <br />and beverages, audio/visual equipment rental, refreshments, cultural exchange items, translation <br />services, printing, paper goods, etc.; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAFI that <br />Contingency Relief fiords from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of <br />Management to provide funds for the Sister City Program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
