A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE RULES OF PROCEDURE AND ORGANIZATION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I BY AMENDING RULE NO. 26.
WHEREAS, on December 5, 2022, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i (“the Council”) adopted the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Council of the County of Hawai‘i (“the Rules”)
as provided in Resolution No. 4-22 to govern the affairs of the Council; and
WHEREAS, Rule No. 16(1) states that the Rules “may be amended at a regular Council meeting by resolution approved by an affirmative majority vote of the entire membership of the Council;”
and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that Rule No. 26, subrule (1)(c), governing Chairperson additional fulltime staff, bears further consideration and clarification; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Rule No. 26 of the Rules is hereby amended by amending subrule (1), clause (c) to read as follows (material to be deleted
is bracketed and stricken; material to be added is underscored):
“(c) The Chairperson is assigned [four] five additional fulltime staff:
(1) Executive Assistant to the Chairperson
(2) Deputy Executive Assistant to the Council Chairperson
(3) Special Assistant
(4) Special Assistant
[(4)](5) Council Aide to the Chairperson, in addition to subsection 1(b)”
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall prepare and transmit to all appropriate parties copies of the portion of the Rules as herein amended to replace the existing portion
made obsolete hereby, provided that, in preparing said pages, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material, and underscoring need not be included.
