<br />RESOLUTION NO. 675 24
<br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
<br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
<br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
<br />RECREATION WITH ITS PAPA`IKOU CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL.
<br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division, provides a
<br />diversified recreation program that addresses the needs and interests of the respective
<br />communities in a safe environment at County recreational facilities; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Recreation Division plans, conducts, arranges, or promotes organized
<br />recreation, athletics, crafts, and other leisure -time activities for all age groups at recreation
<br />centers and facilities throughout the County of Hawaii; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Recreation Division is planning a community Christmas Carnival event
<br />at the Frank M. Santos Park in Pdpa`ikou on December 14, 2024, which will include a "Polar
<br />Express" theme with holiday decorations, carnival games, keiki crafts, bouncy castle, food and
<br />craft vendors, and other activities presented in a safe and fun environment; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Recreation Division is requesting funds to support the Pdpa`ikou
<br />Christmas Carnival to cover costs for porta potties, photo booth, Bluetooth speaker with
<br />microphones, eight walkie talkies, solar Christmas trees, a seven -foot inflatable snowman, Santa
<br />hats, candy, craft supplies (bells, ribbons, pins, straws, erasers, wood beads, cardstock, twine,
<br />hole punchers, etc.), decorations (indoor and outdoor lights, railroad tracks, disposable
<br />tablecloths, etc.), and decoration supplies (extension cords, ropes, buckets, tape, poles, batteries,
<br />generator gas, etc.); now, therefore,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
<br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
<br />Parks and Recreation for its Pdpa`ikou Christmas Carnival.
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
<br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
