RESOLUTION NO. 675 24
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH ITS PAPA`IKOU CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division, provides a
diversified recreation program that addresses the needs and interests of the respective
communities in a safe environment at County recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division plans, conducts, arranges, or promotes organized
recreation, athletics, crafts, and other leisure -time activities for all age groups at recreation
centers and facilities throughout the County of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division is planning a community Christmas Carnival event
at the Frank M. Santos Park in Pdpa`ikou on December 14, 2024, which will include a "Polar
Express" theme with holiday decorations, carnival games, keiki crafts, bouncy castle, food and
craft vendors, and other activities presented in a safe and fun environment; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Division is requesting funds to support the Pdpa`ikou
Christmas Carnival to cover costs for porta potties, photo booth, Bluetooth speaker with
microphones, eight walkie talkies, solar Christmas trees, a seven -foot inflatable snowman, Santa
hats, candy, craft supplies (bells, ribbons, pins, straws, erasers, wood beads, cardstock, twine,
hole punchers, etc.), decorations (indoor and outdoor lights, railroad tracks, disposable
tablecloths, etc.), and decoration supplies (extension cords, ropes, buckets, tape, poles, batteries,
generator gas, etc.); now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for its Pdpa`ikou Christmas Carnival.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
