Of COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAI`I ',TE CP •N�� RESOLUTION NO. 6"Afs 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PETFIX SPAY AND NEUTER TO SUPPORT ITS SPAY AND NEUTER CLINICS IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 6. WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to help reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs throughout the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter works to protect Hawai`i's communities and environment by providing safe and professional spay and neuter services on Hawaii Island at no cost to lower -income participants; and WHEREAS, PETFIX Spay and Neuter is requesting funds to help defray veterinarian fees and purchase medications to conduct spay and neuter clinics throughout Council District 6 in fiscal year 2024-2025; and WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports this project that will help balance Hawaii Island's economic, social, community, and environmental well-being; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to PETFIX Spay and Neuter to conduct its spay and neuter clinics in Council District 6. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
