JMYVrO f H, 1 <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII =t STATE OF HAWAFI <br />'T,� GF•N' <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6724 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HOLUALOA <br />VILLAGE `OHANA FOR EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH ITS 25th ANNUAL <br />COFFEE & ART STROLL. <br />WHEREAS, the Holualoa Village `Ohana is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose <br />objective is to promote the history and lifestyle of Holualoa Village through historic preservation <br />and documentation of its buildings, businesses, and people; and <br />WHEREAS, the Holualoa Village `Ohana will host its 25th Annual Coffee & Art Stroll <br />on November 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Holualoa Village; and <br />WHEREAS, the Annual Coffee & Art Stroll will feature up to 20 coffee farms with <br />booths to distribute samples and talk story with attendees. Coffee themed items, food vendors <br />and art displays will be scattered throughout the Village shops and galleries as local chefs select <br />a Chefs Choice award and attendees vote for a People's Choice award; and <br />WHEREAS, the Holualoa Village `Ghana is requesting funding assistance with venue <br />fees, special -duty officers, portable lua, signage, banners, posters, flyers and programs related to <br />the 25th Annual Coffee & Art Stroll; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports enhancing the <br />standard of living and the development of a local economy that is diverse, stable, and in balance <br />with Hawai`i's ecology, community character, and cultural heritage; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Research and Development to provide a grant to the Holualoa Village `Ohana for expenses <br />associated with its 25th Annual Coffee & Art Stroll. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
