REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />DATE: October 1, 2024 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Hilo, Hawai'i <br />TIME: 9:36 a.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawai'i 96720 <br />Re: Comm. No. 1056/Bill No. 211 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 211, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 211, transmitted by Director of Finance Diane Nakagawa via Communication No. 1056, dated <br />September 13, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County <br />of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025. <br />This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants — American Rescue Plan Act Local Assistance and <br />Tribal Consistency Fund account ($32,922.96); and appropriates the same to the American Rescue <br />Plan Act Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Fund account, for a total appropriation of <br />$832,922.96. Funds would be used for any governmental purpose other than a lobbying activity. <br />Finance Director Diane Nakagawa was present in chambers for questions. <br />Committee Member Cindy Evans asked if there was a plan for these funds.
