Aloha, I am writing to you about Bitl. 121, which seeks to end hosted vacation rentats on Ag zone land. |
believe this is very irresponsible legislation. In my area of Puna, Farm Stays are very popular, with visitors
seeking toreconnect with how, and where food comes from. Something alot ofpaopieare ignorant of
nowadays.
Farm stays are often what helps make urbreak efernn'a profitability. Eopeoiuik/ here in Puna where the
votcano has effectively destroyed any other way of making a living. Add that to the HIPA insurance ptan,
which bans farming for profit on Ag Land, and you have a perfect storm for destroying farming on Ag
Lands inPuna. The only farming left will beiUegaiPekaioiofarms.
Don't finish what the volcano started. The Council. has started an Economic Impact Study on the
impacts OfBill 121. Find out the facts, before blindly pushing legislation through.
