Re: Opposition to Bill 122
Aloha, Chair Kimball & County Council Members.
Thank you for the opportunity to submit opinions regarding this proposed bill. I am submitting
testimony in opposition to Bill 122.
Why are you pushing forward with this bill when testimony against it has been clear and strong? As I
mentioned in my last testimony opposed to this bill, even Council members have questioned the
purpose of this bill.
The owners of these properties have worked long and hard to obtain the required Special Use Permit.
With the passage of this bill they will then be lumped together with all other short term rental properties
and have to renew their registration every year. This is not a requirement for a Special Use Permit and is
unfair to these owners. Please reconsider the passage of this bill. It is not needed or wanted.
