RESOLUTION NO. 685 24
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE PHASE THREE EXPANSION OF ROOTS
SKATEPARK AT KAMEHAMEHA PARK IN COUNCIL DISTRICT 9.
WHEREAS, the Roots Skatepark provides the North Kohala community with a safe
recreational environment for skateboarding; and
WHEREAS, while a substantial amount of funding, materials, and labor for the
construction of Roots Skatepark has been donated by local community members, additional
funds are needed for Phase three of the expansion at the skatepark; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has previously committed to
provide funding assistance for necessary construction expenses; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAIII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for expenses relating to the Phase three expansion of Roots Skatepark at
Kamehameha Park in Council District 9.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $20,000
010.801.5801.33 Department of Parks and Recreation $20,000
Transfer to Capitol Projects Fund

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
