COUNTY OF HAWAI`I RESOLUTION NO. 687 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT FOUNDATION'S PUMPKIN PATCH EVENT. WHEREAS, the Hilo Downtown Improvement Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to financially support the activities and events of the Hilo Downtown Improvement Association, whose goals are to protect, preserve, and create a vibrant downtown Hilo for all to enjoy; and WHEREAS, the Hilo Downtown Improvement Foundation is hosting a Pumpkin Patch Event, which is a free, family -friendly, community event that will be held October 25-26, 2024, at Kaldkaua Park; and WHEREAS, the Hilo Downtown Improvement Foundation is requesting funding assistance to help purchase the pumpkins for families to carve and take home; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that are in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to support drug -free and alcohol - free events for the community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hilo Downtown Improvement Foundation's Pumpkin Patch Event. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of IHawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
