RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE 12 STEP OHANA
CLUB OF KONA, INC., TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR ITS RECOVERY
MEETINGS.
WHEREAS, The 12 Step Ohana Club of Kona, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization created to provide support and recovery from substance use disorder through 12
step meetings and programs, in a clean and sober environment; and
WHEREAS, The 12 Step Ohana Club of Kona provides and hosts recovery meetings
throughout the year for those who are recovering from substance use disorder such as,
Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, AI -Anon, Adult Children of Alcoholics,
Codependents Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous and Overeaters Anonymous; and
WHEREAS, The 12 Step Ohana Club of Kona process groups can be a good support for
individuals as it allows for the opportunity to learn from the experiences of other clients as they
continue on their path of growth and recovery; and
WHEREAS, The 12 Step Ohana Club of Kona is requesting funds to assist with
expenses for its recovery meetings such as facility maintenance fees, books, meeting
refreshments and snacks, janitorial and kitchen paper products, stationary and printer supplies;
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports programs and activities that
promote education and well-being in a drug -free and alcohol -free environment, such as The 12
Step Ohana Club of Kona recovery meetings; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief fiends from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to The 12 Step Ohana Club of Kona, Inc., to assist with
expenses for its recovery meetings.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
