RESOLUTION NO. 69G 24
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF A PAL2 PORTABLE AQUATIC LIFT TO THE
COUNTY OF HAWAIJ DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION.
WHEREAS, Johnette Schenk is donating a used PAL2 portable aquatic lift to the
County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this donation, valued at approximately $4,500, will be installed at the
Kona Community Aquatics Center and utilized by those with disabilities and/or have
difficulties entering and exiting a County swimming pool by standard methods; and
WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this
donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I,, in
accordance with Article X111, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Johnette Schenk, 73-1216 Onehanau Place, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740,
acknowledging this generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation,the Department of Finance, and the
Office of Management.
