RESOLUTION NO.
STATE OF HAWAFI
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF A SEARCH AND RESCUE CANINE WITH HANDLER
TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAVI
POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, Hawaii Island K9 Association is donating one (1) pre -trained search
and rescue canine, including handler training and certification to the County of Hawaii Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, this donation, valued at approximately $25,000, will be utilized by the
Police Department's Kealakehe Station in West Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I, that
in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts the donation of this pre -trained search and rescue canine with handler
training and certification.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Police Department, the Department of Finance and the Office of
Management.
