COUNTY OF HAWAI`I - STATE OF HAWAII <br />�tF OF N►'� <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE <br />CHILDREN'S JUSTICE CENTER OF EAST HAWAI`I, INC., TO ASSIST WITH ITS <br />EMERGENCY CLOSET PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, Friends of the Children's Justice Center of East Hawaii, Inc., (FCJCEH) is <br />a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to meet the needs of abused and neglected <br />children of East Hawaii and to educate the public about child abuse; and <br />WHEREAS, FCJCEH's 24-hour Emergency Closet program offers basic necessities and <br />other essential items to help children who are victims of abuse, offering them immediate comfort <br />and a sense of security during times of crisis; and <br />WHEREAS, the Emergency Closet ensures that children have a safe, comfortable, and <br />dignified place to rest and store their belongings when transitioned to a more stable environment; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, FCJCEH is requesting funds to support the purchase of much needed items <br />for its Emergency Closet, include clothing, footwear, hygiene and grooming items, bathroom <br />essentials, and dental supplies; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family <br />violence prevention and intervention initiatives to identify needs; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br />Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Friends of the Children's Justice Center of East <br />Hawaii, Inc., to assist with its Emergency Closet program. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
