Bill 121 will lead to the end of short term rentals on AG zoned properties. It's fate tc {
say everyone who is currently operating will be able to operate into the future.
The data varies on zoningbut Hawaii Countylands area roxsears):pp (per Google
49% Conservation
46% Agriculture
4.7% Rural
0.3% Urban
Bill 121 will end the ability of families who live on 95% of the lands in Hawaii County
from supplementing their income with short term rentals. Many families do not have the
abilities, resources, time or desire to farm full time to make a living. Ag is a viable
supplemental activity/income, may sustain family but rarely can a family make their
living on farming/ag production.
Please leave the STVR provision as it is currently written allowing "hosted rentals" to
continue with 30-day stays being allowed instead of requiring 180-days. Give the time
needed to complete the impact study and listen to the emotional testimony of the many
constituents who have testified countless times.
Thank you for your time,
