Testimony again bill 121
30 pages to try and put senior citizen homeowners hosting vacation rentals on their own property out of
business. 30 pages that will require us elders to hire a lawyer to try navigate your overreach of what
should be our property rights.30 pages with provisions to strip elders of their homeowners exemtions.30
pages with unreasonable deadlines. Some of us have been doing this business for years and have clients
booked 2 years ahead and a few even longer. If I could continue my vaction rental would allow me to
build some ADU's. Bill 130 And make property improvements.The council has never held the hotel
industry to any real affordable housing plan and if you collected monies from them where is it? Let's get
the economic study and some facts about this industry. Nowhere in this bill or its description does the
council explain. What bad problems is my rental creating. Why is this industry bad. Let's look at the
thousands of complaints you have received. I think more likely the complaints are the overwhelming
testimony against this bill.The path for owner hosted rentals should be a simple one-page low fee or no
fee for seniors. Leave us alone and tell the hotel industry no real problem with owner hosted rentals.
