Subject: Please do not pass the just added nonconfoming TRU amendment to Bill No. 121
Dear Honorable Hawaii County Council Members;
The amendment to Bill 121 of the just added nonconforming use amendment should not
pass PLEASE!
The oceanfront houses along Alii Drive in Kona have been short term rentals since these
houses were built. Please do not take that away from the community.
The oceanfront nonconforming houses on Alii Drive give and pay alot of Transient
Accommodations Taxes to the County of Hawaii and for the community, if you pass the
nonconforming use amendment all those millions of dollars in taxes will not be given ever
again.
We have had no time to address your concerns about the nonconforming permitted use as
it was never mentioned for over the 1 .5 years of discussion until the last minute on. y a
October 1, 2024, please give us some time and not just throw it in, PLEASE.
