To the Esteemed Members of the County Council,
I am writing to voice my strong opposition to the immediate effective date of Bill 121 upon approval.As a
property owner who has future bookings and financial commitments based on current regulations,this
sudden change could have catastrophic financial consequences for me.
The inability to honor existing reservations due to an abrupt regulatory change would not only result in
lost income but could also damage my reputation as a reliable host. Negative reviews and cancellations
could have long-term effects on my ability to attract future guests, compounding the financial impact.
Moreover, I have financial obligations—including mortgage payments, utilities, and maintenance costs—
that are dependent on the income generated from my property.An immediate halt in operations could
jeopardize my ability to meet these obligations, leading to potential default and severe financial distress.
I respectfully request that the council consider implementing a reasonable transition period.This would
allow property owners like myself to adjust to the new regulations without facing immediate financial
ruin.
