Arakaki and Members of the County Council County of Hawaii 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, HI 96720 Ref: Resolution for Time Share No. 229 d0 fridge uako.~LS' The~',ill~ges of Aina Le'a Dear Chairman Arakaki and Councilmembers: The above action recently came to my attention and, although I have not had the opportunity to become familiar with the proposal in detail, I understand there is before you a proposal to approve the inclusion of substantial time share within Bridge Puako's The Villages of Aina Le'a development. This is of serious concern to me, both as the owner representative of property at and in my position of President of the Board of Directors of the Association of OwnErs of The Cape at Mauna Lani. I ask that the Council carefully consider their actions in this matter. I am certain you have received substantial input as to this resolution and my concerns are not likely to be much different than those already voiced. The amount of transient vacation housing proposed will have significant impact on adjacent and nearby public and private property and resources. I understand development of this use is appropriately limited, and those zones are not designated at or planned for Bridge Puako. Their development proposal appears to not include the necessary amenities and facilities to accommodate such a resort use and this will most assuredly result in significant increased pressure on the resources of other nearby properties as vacationers leave The Villages in search all they expect from a trip to Hawaii. Mauna Lani, Mauna Kea and Waikoloa will bear the brunt of this significant increase in transient traffic. Please weigh your actions carefully: nearby public and private properties and resources deserve this consideration. Very truly yours, for HFI Inc. NINTENDO OF AME CA INC. W.
