HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 727 Draft 01 2022-2024A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE HAWAIʻI COUNTY COUNCIL’S HEARTFELT GRATITUDE TO SUSAN “SUE” L.K. LEE LOY FOR HER YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI.
WHEREAS, Council Member Susan “Sue” L.K. Lee Loy (hereinafter “Sue Lee Loy”) represented Council District 3 in the 2016-2018, 2018-2020, 2020-2022, and 2022-2024 Council terms; and
WHEREAS, during the past eight years on the Council, Sue Lee Loy has held the following positions:
Vice Chair of the Committee on Human Services and Social Services (2016-2018)
Chair of the Committee on Public Works and Mass Transit (2018-2020)
Vice Chair of the Committee on Planning (2018-2020)
Vice Chair of the Committee on Governmental Relations and Economic Development (2018-2020)
Chair of the Committee on Human Services and Social Services (2020-2022)
Chair of the Committee on Public Works and Mass Transit (2020-2022)
Vice Chair of the Hawaiʻi County Housing Agency (2020-2022)
Chair of the Policy Committee on Infrastructure and Assets (2022-2024)
Vice Chair of the Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs (2022-2024)
Vice Chair of the Hawaiʻi County Housing Agency (2022-2024); and
WHEREAS, Sue Lee Loy admirably took on additional leadership roles by serving in different capacities for the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the Western Interstate Region
(WIR), which included the following:
WIR: member of the Board of Directors (2022-2024)
NACo: member of the Community, Economic and Workforce Development Policy Steering Committee (2022-2024)
NACo: member of the Board of Directors (2024)
NACo: member of the Membership Standing Committee (2024); and
WHEREAS, Sue Lee Loy had an exemplary attendance and voting record during her years in office as Council Member; and
WHEREAS, Sue Lee Loy was elected to represent District 2 as a Hawaiʻi State Representative on August 10, 2024; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that it hereby extends its sincerest gratitude to Representative Sue Lee Loy for all of her years of service and offers its best
wishes for her continued health, success, happiness, and good fortune in her personal and professional life.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Sue Lee Loy, Hawaiʻi State Representative.
