Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions, to which was referred Resolution
No. 704-24, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 704-24, transmitted by Environmental Management Deputy Director Brenda
Iokepa-Moses, via Communication No. 1146, dated October 24, 2024, authorizes the extension of
the public sewer from an existing sewer line terminus at Pukihae Bridge to Hau Lane, within
Hawaii Belt Road, to service Tax Map Keys: 2-6-015:001 and 002 at Ahupua`a of Wainaku,
District of South Hilo, Island and County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii.
This extension would service the Hawaiian Ola Brewing Corporation for its operations at 238 Belt
Road in Hilo.
Environmental Management Director Ramzi I. Mansour, Ola Brewing Corporation President and
Co -Founder Na`ehalani Breeland, and Thomas Yeh, Esq., representing the applicant, were present.
Deputy Corporation Counsel Diane Mellon -Lacey was also present. Ms. Breeland and Mr. Yeh
gave an overview of the project and responded to inquiry by Council Members.
Your Committee on Legislative Approvals and Acquisitions is in accord with the purpose and intent
of Resolution No. 704-24, and recommends its adoption.
