Aloha County Council Members,
My name is Maki Morinoue, and I am writing on behatf of HULL PAC to express our strong and continued
opposition toBiii1G9,Draft 3.VV8must not give anextension. VVea[aourge you not topostpone your
vote. The message from our community and respected organizations has been unmistakabLe: this
proposal. does not serve the best interests of our'bina or our people. Delaying this decision woutd
question our Leadership's commitment to transparency and accountability.
I have collected more fLood footage from our community from the September 17th, 2024 flooding. Here
are just a few that impact this TMK.
We oppose BiK1G9,Draft 3'and would Like toask you totake ofirm stance bvvoting now. Respected
organizations and community voices have already outlined why this development is unsuitable —clear
environmental, infrastructure, cultural, and safety risks exist. A cletay would undermine ethical
leadership and allow developers to seek out favorable votes from tess-informed council members
coming in, compromising the integrity of the process.
To those who support this biLl, please listen to our residents' and professionals' expertise and concerns.
This Land is unsuitable for any deveLopment—it's a naturat FEMA fLoodplain, where any interference
poses risks to the community beLow. Open space preservation is the best course of action, enabbing the
restoration of a riparian forest that would serve as a naturat safeguard and hetp, address ongoing
infrastructure challenges.
Your decision Onthis matter iaabout more than 8single 'ect--it'Sabout sofeouardiOgdh8future Ofour
land and community.
Mahato nui Loa foryour time and dedication.
Sincerely,
MaNMnhnouo
