Subject: Strongly oppose Bill 169
Aloha Council Members,
I strongly oppose Bill 169 allowing an extension and developing this property on the FEMA
Floodway. Many county and federal organizations are also against this development.
This project is opposed by:
- County of Hawaii Cultural Resources Commission
- County of Hawai'i Kona Community Development Plan Action Committee
- County of Hawaii Leeward Planning Commission
- County of Hawaii Public Access, Open Space, & Natural Resources Preservation Commission (PONQ
- Kona Soil and Water Conservation District (funded by the County of Hawaii R&D Department)
- Na Ala Hele Hawaii Trail and Access Program (DOFAW, DLNR)
Please oppose Bill 169 and keep our communities safe from future flash floods that can impact this
community.
