A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A
DONATION OF MATERIALS AND LABOR TO REMODEL A MOBILE
OFFICE TRAILER.
WHEREAS, the University of the Nations, Kona Inc. is donating materials and labor
to remodel a mobile office trailer for the County of Hawaii Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the labor and materials, valued at approximately $7,000, will be to
upgrade the trailer facility, which is currently utilized for training purposes by County
Lifeguards at Kahalu`u Beach; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the
council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other
personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, , in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County of
Hawaii, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to University of the Nations, Kona Inc., 75-5851 Kuakini Hwy #18, Kailua-
Kona, Hawaii 96740.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Department, the Department of Finance, and the Office of Management.
