In the current Budget Ordinance 24-32, $495,000 is appropriated in the Police
Department's HCPD Roadblock Program account. Additional federally derived funds in
the amount of $37,839.15 are being provided by the State of Hawaii Department of
Transportation and the National Priority Safety Program to fund operations focused on
reducing the number of drivers operating a vehicle while impaired.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Hawaii County Police's HCPD Roadblock Program account,
bringing the total appropriation to $532,839.15.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Hauoli Aiona of the Police
Department at 961-2273.
