RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AWARD OF $23,750 FROM THE URBAN SUSTAINABILITY DIRECTOR’S NETWORK TO THE OFFICE OF SUSTAINABILITY, CLIMATE, EQUITY AND RESILIENCE
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i has been selected to receive a $23,750 grant award from the Urban Sustainability Director’s Network, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under section
501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to conduct a pilot project to train county staff and partner community-based organizations in participatory storytelling in relationship to place and
what sustainability and climate action means to our community; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai‘i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities,
or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience recommends the acceptance of this grant award; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai‘i County Charter,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai‘i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai‘i accepts this grant award.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity
and Resilience and the Finance Department.
