'36 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAVI RISE <br />FOUNDATION FOR THE 28TH ANNUAL KWXX HO`OLAULE`A. <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Rise Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides <br />educational services, programs, and support for the vulnerable, moderate- and low-income <br />families, children, and elderly; and <br />WHEREAS, KWXX FM is a radio station that is hosting its 28th Annual KWXX <br />Ho`olaule`a on Saturday, January 18, 2025, in downtown Hilo; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Rise Foundation is working with KWXX FM to increase awareness <br />of the culture and history of Hawaii Island by presenting the annual KWXX Ho`olaule`a, a free <br />block party with live entertainment featuring contemporary and traditional music and hula in <br />downtown Hilo; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Rise Foundation is requesting funds to provide private security <br />personnel for crowd control and public safety; and <br />WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide <br />and support events and activities that celebrate and commemorate our culture, heritage, and <br />diverse communities; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br />service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hawaii Rise Foundation for the 28th Annual KWXX <br />Ho`olaule`a. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
