JMt-4 Of COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII tTE•OiN�'i, RESOLUTION NO. 39 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ACTION 4 ANIMALS HAWAII TO SUPPORT ITS REHOMING AND ADOPTION PROGRAMS FOR AT - RISK ANIMALS ON HAWAI`I ISLAND. WHEREAS, Action 4 Animals Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to maximize the adoption rate of at -risk animals going to loving homes and to help control the population of cats and dogs throughout Hawaii Island; and WHEREAS, Action 4 Animals Hawaii frequently works in partnership with the Hawaii County Animal Control and Protection Agency and is currently on track to have at least 600 animals rehomed and adopted within the year; and WHEREAS, Action 4 Animals Hawaii is requesting funds to purchase pet food for its rehoming and adoption programs for at -risk animals throughout Hawaii Island; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports programs, projects, and services that help meet the needs of the Big Island community; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Action 4 Animals Hawaii to help support its rehoming and adoption programs for at -risk animals on Hawaii Island. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
