Rudy Legaspi has notified me of my nomination to the above
Commission and requested my appearance at your meeting in Hilo on
March 6 at 1:30PM. Z spoke to him this morning and told him it
would be a real inconvenience to me to lose a half day to appear at
this meeting, but that I could probably rearrange my schedule if it
is imperative that I be there. He indicated he didn't think it
would be a problem, but that I should contact Curtis Tyler, who
nominated me for this position.
Curtis, as you probably know, is in Washington, DC and not expected
back until tomorrow night. I have sent a fax to both his Hilo and
Kona offices assuring him that i don't want tv appear negligent or
that I am unable to fulfill my duties, but if I can pass vn the
March 6 appearance, it would be much .appreciated.
At the suggestion of Leimomi, Curtis' secretary, I am sending this
information on to you also.
in my fax today to Rudy Legaspi, I also corrected my application
for this position inasmuch as I neglected tv~include what i have
been doing since the demise of the Keauhou Visitvrs Association in
December of 1994. I am self-employed, doing business as Public
Relations, Etc., with several clients including Destination Kona
Coast, Hawaii Visitors 6 convention Bureau, Keauhou Shopping
Center, and the Keauhou Rehabilitation 6 Healthcare Center, among
others. So, I have a rather full plate.
Curtis, I'm sure, will contact me as soon as he can upon his
return.

You have received a copy of Rudy Legaspi's letter dated February 27
concerning my nomination to the KVbC. I talked to him this morning
and told him it would be a real inconvenience to me to lose a half
day to appear before the Council's Planning Committee on Thursday,
March 6, but that I could probably rearrange my schedule if it is
imperative that I be there. He indicated he didn't think it would
be a problem, but that I had to contact you.
Curtis, I realize the importance of this nomination and I don't
want to appear negligent_,or that I am unable to fulfill my duties.
However, if I can pass on the Harch 6 appearance, it would be much
appreciated. _
Please call me and give me your thoughts as soon as possible so Z
can rearrange my plans if necessary.
