Re: Operating Budget
The County of Hawaii has been awarded $41,792 in federally derived funds from the State of
Hawaii Department of Transportation, Highway Safety Office. These funds will be used to
conduct community engagement and enforcement activities related to pedestrian safety.
Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement to accept these funds. Also enclosed is a bill
for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $41,792 grant.

This is a request to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Highway Safety Office for an awarded
grant by National Highway Safety Act of 1966 (Public Law 89-564) in the amount of $41,792.00
Please create an Ordinance to appropriate $41,792.00 for the period covering October 1, 2024 to September
30, 2025.
