Re: Operating Budget
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is providing an additional $137,592 to
the Office of Housing and Community Development's Housing Trust Fund Program. The funds
will be used to produce affordable housing through the acquisition, new construction,
reconstruction, and/or rehabilitation of non -luxury housing with suitable amenities. In the
current fiscal year's budget, $2,850,000 is appropriated for this grant.
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the
additional funds into the Office of Housing and Community Development's HTF Projects and
HTF Administration accounts, bringing the total grant appropriation to $2,987,592.

Please submit the attached bill to amend Ordinance No.24-32, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawaii for the
Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2025, to add additional Housing Trust Fund (HTF) Program allocation and appropriate the same for the
General. Fund, as follows:

The HTF Program is an allocation from HUD through HHFDC and.is received every three years on rotation between Kauai, Maui and
Hawaii Counties.
The HTF Program funds are used to produce, affordable housing through the acquisition, new construction, reconstruction, and/or
rehabilitation of non -luxury housing.With suitable amenities. These funds primarily assist families that meet the requirements of
extremely low-income or 30 percent of the AMI.
