Funds would be used to establish a statewide traffic data system and ensure compliance with national standards. Reference: Comm. 31 Intr. by: Council Member Kānealiʻi-Kleinfelder (B/R) Page 6 FC-1 January 7, 2025 Bill 7: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 24-32, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2025 Increases revenues in the Federal Grants – Hawaiʻi County Police Department Roadblock Program account ($37,839.15); and appropriates the same to the Hawaiʻi County Police Department Roadblock Program account, for a total appropriation of $532,839.15. Funds would be used to reduce the number of drivers operating a vehicle while impaired. Reference: Comm. 32 Intr. by: Council Member Kānealiʻi-Kleinfelder (B/R) Bill 8: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 24-32, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2025 Increases revenues in the Federal Grants – Occupant Protection Program account ($1,724.50); and appropriates the same to the Occupant Protection Program account, for a total appropriation of $161,724.50. Funds would be used for occupant protection projects. Reference: Comm. 33 Intr. by: Council Member Kānealiʻi-Kleinfelder (B/R) Bill 9: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 24-32, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2025 Increases revenues in the Federal Grants – Hawaiʻi County Police Department 2023 Selective Traffic Enforcement Programs Grant account ($48,764); and appropriates the same to the Hawaiʻi County Police Department 2023 Selective Traffic Enforcement Programs Grant account, for a total appropriation of $628,764. Funds would be used for training, education, enforcement, and community collaboration to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries. Funds would be used to conduct community engagement and enforcement activities related to pedestrian safety. Reference: Comm. 69 Intr. by: Council Member Kānealiʻi-Kleinfelder (B/R) Bill 14: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 24-32, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2025 Increases revenues in the Federal Grants – Housing Trust Fund Grant account ($137,592); and appropriates the same to the Housing Trust Fund Projects account ($130,351) and Housing Trust Fund Administration account ($7,241), for a total appropriation of $2,987,592. Funds would be used to produce affordable housing through the acquisition, new construction, reconstruction, and/or rehabilitation of non-luxury housing with suitable amenities.
