OJMtYfOi k�W <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />�rE cF•µ►^�' <br />RESOLUTION NO. 56 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE EAST HAWAI`I <br />CULTURAL COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 5TH <br />ANNUAL YOUTH ART MONTH FESTIVAL. <br />WHEREAS, East Hawaii Cultural Council (EHCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organization that provides an inclusive platform for culture and the arts, giving voice to our <br />diverse communities, and providing a forum through visual and preforming arts and education; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, EHCC is hosting its 5th Annual Youth Art Month Festival on March 8, <br />2025, at Kalakaua Park, which is a free event that will feature activities, performances, and <br />demonstrations by arts organizations and youth from across the island, fostering an appreciation <br />for the arts and celebrating the achievements of young artists and educators; and <br />WHEREAS, EHCC is requesting funds for photography and videography services, art <br />supplies and materials, light pole banners along Kamehameha Avenue, flyer printing, permit <br />costs, and refreshments; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this event as it is in <br />keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to provide diversified recreational <br />activities that address the needs and interests of the respective communities in a safe and <br />welcoming environment; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br />service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to EHCC to assist with expenses for its 5th Annual <br />Youth Art Month Festival. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
