HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 056 Draft 01 2024-2026A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE EAST HAWAI‘I
CULTURAL COUNCIL TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS 5TH ANNUAL YOUTH ART MONTH FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, East Hawai‘i Cultural Council (EHCC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides an inclusive platform for culture and the arts, giving voice to our diverse communities,
and providing a forum through visual and preforming arts and education; and
WHEREAS, EHCC is hosting its 5th Annual Youth Art Month Festival on March 8, 2025, at Kalākaua Park, which is a free event that will feature activities, performances, and demonstrations
by arts organizations and youth from across the island, fostering an appreciation for the arts and celebrating the achievements of young artists and educators; and
WHEREAS, EHCC is requesting funds for photography and videography services, art supplies and materials, light pole banners along Kamehameha Avenue, flyer printing, permit costs, and
refreshments; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this event as it is in keeping with the goals and objectives of the department to provide diversified recreational activities
that address the needs and interests of the respective communities in a safe and welcoming environment; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide
a grant to EHCC to assist with expenses for its 5th Annual Youth Art Month Festival.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
