Dear Chairman Inaba and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Greg Yamada, of Council District 3 to the County of Hawaii
Police Commission. Mr. Yamada is a 60-year resident of Hawaii and retired in December 2023
from the Hawaii Police Department with over 30 years of experience as an officer and reserve
officer.
Mr. Yamada is presently a volunteer member of the Caretakers of Kaipalaoa Hilo Bayfront. He
is a former board member of the Hawaii Island Humane Society and is not affiliated with any
political party. If confirmed, Mr. Yamada will serve a term to end on December 31, 2027.
