HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 057 Draft 01 2024-2026 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT TO IMPLEMENT ELECTRONIC CITATIONS IN HAWAI‘I COUNTY WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i Police Department desires to enter into a multi-year agreement for five (5) years to implement electronic citations in Hawai‘i County; and WHEREAS, this agreement will consist of electronic citation licenses, associated equipment and maintenance to implement the program; and WHEREAS, electronic citations are a modern solution designed to streamline the process of issuing citations, offering increased efficiency and potential cost savings; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year agreement, for the purpose as described above for the Police Department. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Finance Department, and Police Department.
