Position: Support of Renee Schoen
Dear Chair Jeri Kagiwada, Vice Chair Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder and Members of the
Committee,
I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Mayor Kimo Alameda's appointment of
Renee Schoen as Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawaii. Having had the privilege of
working with Renee during my time on the County Council, I can personally attest to her
exceptional capabilities and unwavering commitment to public service.
Renee's professionalism, expertise, and problem -solving skills were instrumental in helping me
resolve several complex issues within my district. Her ability to navigate intricate legal matters
with clarity and precision, while maintaining a collaborative and approachable demeanor, was a
tremendous asset. She demonstrated a deep understanding of county operations and legal
frameworks, consistently offering sound advice and practical solutions that upheld the interests
of our community.
As the Corporation Counsel, Renee Schoen would bring a wealth of experience and a steadfast
dedication to serving the County of Hawaii. Her proven track record in providing effective legal
representation, her meticulous attention to detail, and her ability to work collaboratively with
county agencies, officers, and employees make her exceptionally well -qualified for this role.
I have full confidence that Renee will serve with integrity and diligence, ensuring that the legal
needs of the county are met with the highest standard of professionalism. I respectfully urge the
Committee to confirm her appointment.
