Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 6, reports as follows:
Bill No. 6, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication
No. 31, dated November 29, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended, the Operating
Budget for the County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal Grants — Hawai`i County Police Department Data Grant
account ($27,780); and appropriates the same to the Hawaii County Police Department Data Grant
account, for a total appropriation of $107,780. Funds would be used to establish a statewide traffic
data system and ensure compliance with national standards.
Traffic Safety Coordinator Torey Keltner provided background on this measure.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 6, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
