Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 5, reports as follows:
Bill No. 5, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication
No. 30, dated November 29, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended, the Operating
Budget for the County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Federal Grants — National Criminal History Improvement
Program account ($318,240); and appropriates the same to the National Criminal History
Improvement Program account. Funds would be used to enhance the department's Record Section to
improve accuracy, quality, timeliness, immediate accessibility, and integration of national systems of
criminal history and related records.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 5, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
