REPORT OF THE
COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 30/Res. No. 32-25
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 32-25, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 32-25, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication
No. 30, dated November 29, 2024, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the
Department of the Attorney General, Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center, pursuant to Hawaii
Revised Statutes Section 46-7, for a grant to the Hawaii County Police Department.
This resolution allows for the receipt of $318,240 of federally -derived funds to enhance the
department's Records Section to improve accuracy, quality, timeliness, immediate accessibility, and
integration of national systems of criminal history and related records.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is authorized
to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related documents with the Department of the
Attorney General, Hawaii Criminal Justice Data Center for grant funds as indicated above.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 32-25, and
recommends its adoption.
