REPORT OF THE
COMMITTEE ON FINANCE
Re: Comm. No. 28/Res. No. 30-25
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 30-25, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 30-25, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication
No. 28, dated November 29, 2024, authorizes the acceptance of a grant award of $23,750 from the
Urban Sustainability Director's Network to the Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity and
Resilience.
These funds would be used to conduct a pilot project to train county staff and partner community -
based organizations in participatory storytelling in relationship to place and what sustainability and
climate action means to our community.
The Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience Administrator Bethany Morrison
provided background on the measure.
Committee Member Jenn Kagiwada questioned how the department plans to manage the selection
process. Ms. Morrison responded that they plan to do a request for proposal for this project.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 30-25, and
recommends its adoption.
