Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 3, reports as follows:
Bill No. 3, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa via Communication
No. 28, dated November 29, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 24-32, as amended, the Operating
Budget for the County of Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025.
This bill appropriates revenues in the Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience Private
Contributions account ($23,750); and appropriates the same to the Emergent Learning Funds account.
Funds would be used to conduct a pilot project to train county staff and partner community -based
organizations in participatory storytelling in relationship to place and what sustainability and climate
action means to our community.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 3, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
