Aloha Chairman Inaba and Council Members:
I am pleased to nominate Ms. Wendy Sue Botelho, of Council District 2, to the County of Hawaii
Police Commission. Ms. Botelho is a 56-year Hawaii resident and Chief Executive Officer of the
Island of Hawai'i YMCA.
Ms. Botelho is an active volunteer with the Hilo Woman's Club, Hilo Y's Men & Women's Club,
Zonta Club of Hilo, and a member of the Hawaii Children's Trust Fund. Ms. Botelho is a past
Vice President of the Zonta Club of Hilo and is affiliated with the Democratic Party of Hawaii. If
confirmed, Ms. Botelho will serve a term that ends on December 31, 2029.
