COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I �TEOF�N�� RESOLUTIONNO. A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAI`I DISTRICT 4 LITTLE LEAGUE, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE AND SHIPPING OF A PORTABLE PITCHING MOUND. WHEREAS, Hawaii District 4 Little League, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is included in the 5 chartered leagues of Little League Baseball, Incorporated within the State of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the Hawaii District 4 Little League (HD4LL) promotes healthy and well- balanced lifestyles for our communities by providing our island's youth opportunities to participate in both recreational and competitive team sports; and WHEREAS, the HD4LL is requesting funds to help purchase and ship a portable pitching mound to be used by Little League participants during baseball practices and games held at various ball fields around Hawaii island; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports opportunities that promote a healthy lifestyle for our island keiki and residents alike; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hawaii District 4 Little League, Inc., for the purchase and shipping of a portable pitching mound. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
