RESOLUTIONNO.
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAI`I DISTRICT 4
LITTLE LEAGUE, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE AND SHIPPING OF A PORTABLE
PITCHING MOUND.
WHEREAS, Hawaii District 4 Little League, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
that is included in the 5 chartered leagues of Little League Baseball, Incorporated within the
State of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii District 4 Little League (HD4LL) promotes healthy and well-
balanced lifestyles for our communities by providing our island's youth opportunities to
participate in both recreational and competitive team sports; and
WHEREAS, the HD4LL is requesting funds to help purchase and ship a portable
pitching mound to be used by Little League participants during baseball practices and games
held at various ball fields around Hawaii island; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports opportunities that
promote a healthy lifestyle for our island keiki and residents alike; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to Hawaii District 4 Little League, Inc., for the purchase
and shipping of a portable pitching mound.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
